Local character cleanup
Pasted text, uploaded .txt or .md contents, character reports and cleaned output are processed in your browser. AIWatermark.dev does not transmit these to our servers or save them in browser storage. Reloading or closing the tab clears the tool’s state. Copying and downloading are actions you choose; clipboard and downloaded files are then managed by your device.
Optional AI rewriting
When you open the rewrite panel, your browser requests OpenRouter’s public model directory. This sends normal network metadata, but no pasted text or key. A rewrite runs only after you enter your own key, select a free model, check the consent box and press Rewrite text.
The rewrite request sends your text and instructions directly from your browser to OpenRouter. OpenRouter routes it to a model provider. We do not proxy that request. Their privacy policy, provider policies and account limits apply; do not send sensitive information without checking them.
Your API key stays in the current tab’s React state. We do not put it in cookies, local storage, URLs, logs or our server. It is sent to OpenRouter as an authorization header. It is cleared when you reload or close the tab. You can also delete it from the input at any time.
Hosting and essential requests
The website is hosted on Vercel. Visiting pages requests their files and may create hosting access or security logs, including IP address, request time and browser information. See Vercel’s privacy policy. These requests do not contain your pasted text. This version does not include session replay, advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
